Mermaid Dream

Mermaid Dream was sculpted at the Grand Wailea Hotel out of a single 3,000 lb. root of Rainshower tree. The piece of wood sat outside the studio for four years until one morning Dale saw a vision of the mermaid swimming gracefully inside. As she slowly emerged, the story began to unfold. Swimming effortlessly she is following the baby turtle that hatched in her hand earlier with three other turtles following behind. A beautiful playful moment.
